I’m a writer and journalist and author of I Belong Here: a Journey Along the Backbone of Britain in which I chronicle my epic walk along the Pennine Way after being racially abused and themes of walking and wellbeing, nature and mental health. It won a Books Are My Bag Award and was nominated for the Wainwright Prize for UK Nature Writing, the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize, the Great Outdoors Award, among others. I’ve also been published in anthologies including Women on Nature edited by Katharine Norbury, Waymakers, We Mark Your Memory: Writing from the Descendants of Indenture, Seaside Special and others. My writing has also been published in outlets including the Guardian, Observer, i, Sunday Times, Vogue, BBC Wildlife, and I’ve contributed to BBC Radio including a recent appearance on BBC Radio 4’s Ramblings programme where I walked through the glorious Hope Valley interviewed by Clare Balding - one of my favourite places on earth.
